1.1.7.20. Windscreen cleanersThe cleaner of a windscreen can function, only if the switch of ignition is in the situation "ON" (ignition is included).

ATTENTION
As brushes of a screen wiper can freeze to a windscreen, protection of the electromotor of a drive of a screen wiper against breakage, an overheat and ignition by means of the machine gun of protection of a chain is provided. The device automatically disconnects a screen wiper (approximately on 5 mines). If it occurred, transfer a control lever a screen wiper to situation "is switched off" and stop on a roadside or on the brink of a carriageway to remove from a windscreen snow and ice and to release screen wiper brushes. Option A (with position of the INT switch).
Include a cleaner, having transferred the lever to one of the bottom provisions:
– cleaner inclusion on one running cycle (not fixed situation);
INT – a faltering operating mode;
1–a constant mode on small speed;
2–a constant mode on high speed.
Press the lever up that brushes of a screen wiper made one running cycle.
Option B (with position of the AUTO switch).
Include a cleaner, having transferred the lever to one of the bottom provisions:
– cleaner inclusion on one running cycle (not fixed situation);
AUTO – automatic control of a cleaner;
1–a constant mode on small speed;
2–a constant mode on high speed.
Press the lever up that brushes of a screen wiper made one running cycle.
Automatic control of a cleaner.
If to establish a control lever a cleaner in the situation "AUTO", the cleaner will automatically join and be switched off on signals of the sensor of a rain. Frequency of waves of brushes depends on an amount of precipitation on a windscreen (the cleaner can work both in a faltering mode, and in constant on small or high speed).

Sensitivity of the sensor of a rain can be changed rotation of a ring regulator on a control lever a cleaner (fig. 1.72). From average situation (corresponds to normal sensitivity of the sensor) turn a regulator to a label (+) for increase in sensitivity and to a label (–) for reduction of sensitivity of the sensor. The mode of automatic control can not operate with a screen wiper, if the temperature of the sensor of a rain makes about-10 °C and below, or about +85 °C and above. If the windscreen is covered with water-repellent structure, the sensor of a rain can incorrectly estimate an amount of precipitation on glass. It can lead to violation of normal work of a screen wiper in an automatic mode.
If dirt or other alien substances (for example, ice or particles of road salt) stuck to a windscreen over the rain sensor, or the windscreen is covered with hoarfrost, the screen wiper can automatically join. However, if brushes of a cleaner cannot remove ice from glass, dirt or other alien substances, automatic control mode by a screen wiper will be switched off. In similar cases it is necessary to include a continuous operating mode of a screen wiper, having moved a control lever to the first or second fixed situation, or to remove ice, dirt and other alien substances manually, before returning a screen wiper in an automatic mode.
