7.3.1.3. Design and work of a gas-discharge headlight

The impulse of a high voltage (an alternating current tension about 25 000 In) from the control unit of a gas-discharge headlight moves between conclusions of its lamp, initiating the gas category in xenon by which the lamp is filled.
At xenon excitement the temperature in a lamp of a gas-discharge headlight rises, evaporating mercury, and there is an electric arch.
Mercury and electric arch cause further growth of temperature in a lamp, iodide evaporates and decays, atoms of metal give the saved-up energy, making light.
